Marq Sutherland

Pilgrim: Daughter, Wife, Mother is a three-generation photographic project documenting my mother's life and final years. The book contains 59 photographs by my grandfather, 51 by my father, and 66 by me. Years before her death, my mother gave me their unseen photographic negatives. After her passing, I scanned, edited, and sequenced the entire body of work, completing her story with my own images from her final years. This work will be published as a monograph by Steidl.

Marq Sutherland is a photographer whose work explores intimacy, family, and memory. He currently lives and works in Bilbao, Spain.
