Pilgrim: Daughter, Wife, Mother
This is a small selection of images of my mother Pilgrim Sutherland, which are under consideration for my current book project “Pilgrim: Daughter, Wife, Mother”. I am in the beginning process of editing and restoring images from my grandfathers negatives and fathers slides. This project is evolving and will either take the form of one book or separate books. I am inspired by the format of Dayanita Singh's small wonderful box set of books "Sent A Letter", and see the possibility of making a small 2 or 3 volume book set spanning my mother’s life, which have been captured through the eyes of her father Poul de Hoffmann, husband Frank Sutherland and me, her son.
